12 different colored chicks - Gouldians

Post by flyinverted » Wed Dec 21, 2011 5:54 pm

I have a pair of Gouldians that can give me 12 different color combinations. When I bought this pair 18 months ago as juveniles, I did not believe the seller on what combinations I could get if these two mated. The first clutch did give me a blue so I have confirmed they are both split to blue.

I'm happy to say that I've got some chicks in the nest. This is their second clutch. Unfortunately 4 from the first clutch escaped the juvenile holding cage a couple of months ago :( That door has been fixed.

Here's one of the many forecasters I use:

George is the bird in my avatar.

Merry Christmas to all!

They are a very pretty pair!

Some can give you a lot more than 12 possible colour combinations - some are over 70 possible combinations!

A Dilute male that is split to blue is an awesome choice - the colors are endless especially if they are split to other head colors and or breast colors ;) Your male is very pretty too :)

You know I have had the same thing said to me from buyers of some of my mutations. I never really understand why the buyers doubt that what I am saying is true.... then I always wonder... if they doubt that whay would they buy birds from me in the first place... what else will they doubt
Congrats on all the colorful chicks :D
