Split To Black Breasted?

Post by DanteD716 » Sat Feb 11, 2012 7:09 pm

So, my BCCCFW (black cheeked chestnut flanked white) hen has two or three tail feathers like this, is she split to black breasted? It is similiar to the hour glass shape. I saw this feather on the cage floor so I grabbed it! Another hen was chasing her but that hen is now in a seperate cage with a mate.

Here is the feather, sorry, the phone always makes the pictures come out too large, so I have to minimize and crop

ha ha....your picture is blurry...hour glass shape indicated split to BB

The tail feather looks like 3 dots joined....unclear as to what that indicates. Tail feathers can have lits of patterns some are not a clear indicator as to what a bird is split to.

(I didn't see your second post, sorry) I have a BB male she was paired with, the eggs are under fosters. I really do not care if she is /bb, just wanted to know. I am pairing her with a BC

If she is split to BB and you paired her with a full BB then you should get BB young...if she is not you will get splits.
