During quarantine, I give them Ronivet for 7 days.
3 days at 4x, and 4 days at 2x. This is the 6% powder.

Don't know about Pestex.

I do Ronex upon quarantine and then once a year as a preventitive...make sure you are using 12% the 6% is not strong enough. If you can only get the 6 % then double the powder to 1 x's the water amount.

Depending on where your birds are coming from you can treat once or you can treat 2 weeks afterwards.

6% is not strong enough for the finch metabolism...12% is required to work effectively on finches.

When you order from Ladygouldian.com look for RonivetS 12% or Ronex extra strength it contains the 12%.

Probiotics is important since it helps to restore the gut flora especially after antibiotics. It is a live bacteria. I would use it and just wipe everything down...it is not a sugar, Vitalize is more like gatorade.

This is the site previously explaining why not to use 6% at single strength. Tiffany use to sell the product.

The following is my quarantine procedure:
http://www.gouldiansgalore.com/quarantine.html

Personally, I don't think the 12% on it's own is strong enough either. With the 6% I do 4x the dose for the first three days and 2x the dose for the remainder of treatment (7-10 days total treatment time).

So for the 12% I would double the dose the first 3 days and administer as indicated for the rest of the treatment period.

Tiffany...I also now double the twelve % for the first few day as you do especially if the bird has come from a "questionable" background. Then go to regular strength for the remainder of the treatment.

And I thought my quarantine period was long at 53 days.
Well my last purchase is almost done w quarantine. Last treatment of Baycox Th and Fr a few more days, and they are done.

Thanks for the quarantine procedure Tiffany.
I'm always tweaking mine to make it better. It is the dang drug interaction that drags it out so long.
