Split for lutino possible??

Post by skyjump100 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 6:42 pm

Yes, I know I am being incredibly lazy however I'm using a laptop that doesn't let some of the gouldina gentics calculators work. So..... is it possible for a silver male to be split for lutino? I'm asking as I have a silver male that I have paired with a lutino female and am wondering what offspring they may have if they ever have some fertile eggs :?

Hi Dee,
His breast is white and his head is a light camel colour.

Hi,

from that pair, all males will born split lutino and all femeles will be normal.
If the male is split lutino, will have split lutino and lutinos males ans normal females asn lutino females.

Meh - not exactly.

Depends on whether or not your Lutino hen is on a Pastel background or if she is pure Lutino.

If she's on a Pastel background you'll get Yellow/Blue hens and DF Pastel Green/Lutino/Blue males.

If she's not on a Pastel background you'll get Yellow/Blue hens and SF Pastel Green/Lutino/Blue males.

Thanks guys,
I'm definitely going to let them breed next season (still winter here) as would love to get some pastels. Will be a surprise either way!!!

Thanks for the great feedback!
