Hi,
I've got a yellow cock Gouldian finch and a seagreen hen with babies and I'm interested what to expect. Would I be correct in saying 50% yellow, 25% green and 25% seagreen? I'm finding it hard to find out exactly what happens with seagreens, as there doesn't seem to be much information about them on Gouldian genetics webpages and I'd like to understand more about this particular colour. I first thought it was a poor blue but now realise she is a seagreen!
Can normal green birds carry the seagreen gene and breed seagreens, or does at least one bird need to be seagreen in the first place to reproduce this colour?
I hope that someone can help. Many thanks.
