Hello GangSter, hello all,
I love to see tame birds coming freely on human hands. Congratulations GangSter!
On summer I bought an european goldfinch male and a common linnet male. A few weeks later I've got a goldfinch female. All of them were captive bred (they had rings on their feet) and they hatched on July 2015. Unfortunately, I lost the common linnet and the goldfinch female died. Now, I'm trying to tame my goldfinch male. At this moment the bird is quite affraid of direct contact with me, but sometimes it accepts to jump on my hand for a couple of seconds. I discovered that in the evening, before sleeping time, the bird is willing to accept me more than during the rest of the day.
I want to ask you a few questions. Do you know how old was your goldfinch when you started to tame it? And also, do you know if the bird was wild-caught or captive bred? Do you keep the bird alone in the room? (For example, my goldfinch shares the same cage with a pair of society finches.)
Here is a movie with my european finches:
