Sea Green Parrot Finches

Post by williep » Mon Feb 02, 2009 3:23 pm

I have just acquired a pair of SGPF and was wondering if I can mix them with my normal Red heads?

If they do interbreed what will the offspring be? Split for SG or a mix of RH and SG?

I don't think they should be mixed but am not 100% on that.

I too want to see a pic... and congrats on your new pair of finches! I'm so jealous!

The Sea Green gene is sex linked so hens cannot be split. from a normal cock x sea green hen you will get 50% split cocks and 50% normal hens, from a sea green cock x normal hen you will get 50% split cocks and sea green hens.
