@Elma/Vargur

Isin't this chick rather similar to your bird Álfur, when he was still young?
He is EI/BB if I remember correctly.

Or maybe this bird is EI/OB?

But it sure is pretty, will be interesting how he molts :)

hi
that youngster,looks to me like what we in the uk would call a silver,its impossible to get the colours you really want unless you know the progeny going back at least 3 generations.as you bought them from a pet shop they may even be related!and you will never know the background of thier colour .the only way you can do this is by breeding out the colour you dont want/want by pairing with other birds but you will have to know the backgrounds to do this ,buying from a pet shop is fine and that chick looks lovely to me but its like a box of chocolates when you buy from pet shops you never know what you are going to get

ken
you can always tell a yorkshireman,but you cant tell him much

It still kept some of the orange tinting...and it looks like the cheeks are coming in. Elma (Vargur) has a good eye for this, hopefully she can tell you. I am guessing there may be some OB or FF at play here!!!

They look so adorable, I really like the look of the orange against the white feathers and the nice under body feathers are very pretty. Congratulations on such gorgeous babies. I'm so excited to see them all feathered out .

In Australia we call your Florida fancy our Isabel so I'm not quite sure because we aparently don't get Phaeo over here. I think it looks much the same. Over on Aussie finch forum people have pics Of their red Isabel's and they almost look the same as mine but it's still really hard to tell because there not coloured up yet. Geez I wish I could time travel just a few more weeks. :roll:
