Help with ID'ing This Zebra Finch?

Interesting bird.
The white spots on the head and back and the zebra stripes (male stripes/markings) on the neck confuse me.

I think you will have to wait for one or two more weeks
and see what happends

maybe its a male with no flanks and no cheeks.

or a female with male markings.

or a late (male) bloomer.

Vargur - Hello! Yes, we will see. I still think this bird is a girl and I have put her with a sharp looking male to see what happens. It's only been a couple of days, but they are getting along - at least so far.

The female in the cage with the white bird looks split to BC and possibly split to BB

The picture at the top of the female (?) with throat bar s most likely after all this time have the fault marking mentioned earlier.
