I also think the Albino Gouldian is a Society finch. That was my first impression but when all of you chimed in to say so I felt like I needed to weigh in too. I do believe Albino Gouldians exist but that bird isn't one. She looks like a Creamino Society.

Dolly I believe in the UK some Gouldian colors are different genetically than some of ours so it can be harder to input UK/European birds into the calculator as the results may come up incorrectly.

Congrats on the little Silver though. I just purchased my first silver male and he's beautiful. And I love the surprises my Gouldians have given me. First clutch from a pair this year threw Blue chicks so now I know the pair is YH PB GB/BB x RH PB GB/BB and after three clutches another pair threw a Yellow so I know they are BH PB/WB sfGB/YB x BH PB GB/YB. This is my first season breeding them and it's been so much fun. I've got more chicks weaning and fledging and another pair dilute RH PB BB x BH WB YB on eggs right now. :)

I also think the albino gouldian is a cremino society.

How old is he/she?
I ask because a gouldian keeps its beak nodules for a couple months before they fully disappear.

The beak is also too "heavy" for a gouldian, I think. And the base alignment isn't quite right. Hard to explain, so I drew a picture instead.

I also thought that, by definition, albinos could not have any other color. But it seems that's not the case. I looked up some gouldians that are being presented as albinos and they all have varying shades of cream/pale beige.
All seem to look like this guy:

But time will tell! Maybe she's just gouldian with munia-like features.
Whatever she is, she's very lovely!

Hi:

I'm hoping that Andy, who started this thread, is still on Finchforum. You may have something very interesting for us to think about ~ if all you have, as in my case, are Gouldians as finches. None of the other animals you list (the parrots, geese, tortoise, or Maine Coon cat) are likely to have crossed with your finches. If there are Societies in your aviary, then the possibility exists...

On the other hand, if your only finches are indeed Gouldians, there would have been no "fence to jump" and there may be other possibilities. For example, somewhere in the past someone may have successfully crossed their Gouldians with Societies and you've doubled up on those characteristics: longshot there. Or, your Gouldians may simply be changing towards a more Societal look.

Would enjoy hearing more about your set-up and whether it really is possible for that chick to be another breed of finch.

Thanks Andy, for your contribution and enthusiasm.

It definitely looked like a society finch to me too, when I first looked at it. It looks to me like a society, not just by the color, but by the beak shape. In fact, I looked in the list to see if he had any societies.
