Latest Pics... Tiffany, it is really hard to get a picture of the color of the eyes that I am seeing. I have tried in different lighting and with the siblings. Not the best photographer here.
Anyway they have a red color. The color has gotten darker red but still red/amber not like her sibs. The feathers are coming out and I see no yellow like I have in my other yellow chicks. They seem to be white... dingy white??? Maybe this chick is just really slow at coloring... Never had one quite like it. Interesting.

I see what you mean.. you're right, it's hard to take a perfect photo. Sometimes even though the shot is great, it's difficult if not impossible to see the true color because of the way the flash sometimes washes out the bird.
The feathers do look quite light.

What are the parents genetics again in terms of head color? It's interesting to me how dark the head is.. compared to, like, this female:
Though I think she was BH - I'll check with the guy who ended up buying her :)

Derr guess I could have just looked at the first post to see the parents' head colors..
#-o

So that makes sense then that her head would have that darker tinge to it.
It'll be interesting to see as she continues to feather out if they turn out yellow.
With that hen in the link above, she looks almost white there, but it wasn't until the feathers came in strong between her shoulders that the powder puff yellow color really showed up :)

Yes, my other yellows had the yellow come out on the shoulders/mid back also. Also on the tail. They also had a cream white, not a grey white. This chick does have the yellow mouth nodule so that indicates it is a yellow...... so we will see how long it takes for some yellow to show up. I will post pictures when the feathers grow out a little more.
The parents of these laid another egg today...starting a new clutch. Hopefully they will not toss them this time. It will be interesting to see what they have this time arround. Here is a picture of them. This male dilute..would he be considered a clearwing?
The OH male in the cage behind thiers just had 4 chicks removed and she is on the second clutch of eggs now. He is a beautiful green dilute , brother of this one. Hopefully I will get some orange/yellow heads :D

Could be! He definitely looks strikingly similar to the clear wing photos on the Erythrura site...

Candace,

Is she/he a light buff cream color? Not really yellow and not white either...
