Singing and building nests :)
No eggs yet, though.

As a tiny update, I noticed on one of his cheeks, he has a tiny, tiny, tiny speck of deep orange. Just that one spot, and it doesn't seem to grow in size (or lessen in size). Maybe his only "full" marking at all lol.

How old is he? Could he be just really late getting his proper molt? Or that is, needing a second molt to get all his adult colours.

I thought it was a girl when I first saw the picture, but if he's singing that's highly unlikely, unless he's a unisex :P

I haven't had him long, since July 6th (wrote this topic the same day I got him). I don't know his exact age unfortunately - as mentioned in the first post, the guy usually in charge of the birds wasn't there that day, and the other person there didn't have much information to give other than that he had come from a private breeder and that he was young - all of the birds in the cage had finished moulting though, no dark spots on any beaks etc.

I placed him with a hen as suggested (I do understand it would have been best to quarantine him first - unfortunately this was not an option, I will admit I had no planned to get birds during that visit - I was so intrigued by him I ended up buying him) - mainly to see if he would exhibit male behaviours since the suggestion was originally that he's a female. He's definitely acting male-like though, he's trying to charm the female he's with. He's either male or a very, very confused female lol!
