The first photo you posted above of his back he really does look lilac, though.. I don't think at this angle the flash would be affecting the color.L in Ontario wrote:Potter is beautiful Misty but it looks like you did not use a flash whereas I did, and I have to wonder if Knight shows up as a possible Lilac due to the flash used.

I agree I don't think he looks sick at all. Just watch and see. What meds do you use for "quarantine" time period?

Thanks Misty. For all finches in quarantine I give them Scatt upon arrival and Worm Away in their drinking water for a day or 1-1/2 days. Then they are basically put on the same food and alternate water supplement days routine as all my other finches (below) just in a different location... upstairs.MLaRue wrote:I agree I don't think he looks sick at all. Alternate days of water:
Plain water, vitamin water, plain water, calcium water, plain water, plain water, iodine water... repeat

I was just curious as to what you might use during quarantine. I had some problems with birds I got from Florida last year and I found when I treated them with Ronivet they all ended up fine but there was a few close calls during that time. I then got another shipment of a few birds and decided to use Ronivet after the first day of them arriving and I never had any problems from the birds. They came from the same breeder. I was told by a fellow breeder here that she uses Ronivet as part of her quarantine procedures now and never has problems from the birds.

How much Ronivet would you give them and for how long a period?

I use the directions on the bottle and would have to look at the bottle at home.L in Ontario wrote:How much Ronivet would you give them and for how long a period?
