Hello!
Recently I bought a nice lutino gouldian male.
This day only one chick came out of the eggs - it must be a female, because the mother is a blue hen.
look the picture - it may be also a lutino blue girl!!!?
What do you think?

But I was very astonished seeing this two DF Yellows!
One of them seems to me to be a lutino yellow.
The father is a normal yellow I bought not to be split in lutino! Unfortunatelly he died. Lets see whats the two chicks will be???

OMG...I have never seen anything like it :D
Here is a link to Delmar Aviary who breeds lutinos in the states. A picture of her chicks

They aren't showing the center mouth marking but I would say yours looks like a lutino to me.... not that I have ever seen one though :| But I see no color/markings on the the roof of the mouth.
Please keep me posted on the developement. Exciting :D

Whoa..
Okay.. so the top one actually looks Albino to me (which is possible if your Lutino male is /Blue - it would be an Albino hen) whereas the bottom left chick looks Lutino!!

Thanks all for the wishes. =D>
I will do my very best
If the chick will stay "a Lutino one", it must be a DF Yellow Lutino hen. I propose there will be no more color than yellow, white and perhaps red or orange on the had. #-o
Do you agree my guess?

Lutino is Sex Linked and females can only be "SF" for Sex Linked traits, so your Lutino hen would be "SF" for Lutino and would produce males that are "Split" for Lutino if she is paired up at a later date. :)

I think if I remember correctly the way that it works, your hen is still also carrying the yellow genes if she came from a DF Yellow father, so the males she would produce would be Dilute/Lutino if paired to a Normal male.

*I THINK* - I seem to remember some discussion on Winnie's page about separating the Lutino gene away from the Pastel (Yellow) gene, and that she was finally successful in doing that recently.

The breast color will probably be a variation of white or pale lilac.

O.K.
--- its true both lutino and pastell (yellow) are sex linked, therefore this bird should be a single factor pastel and single factor lutino one.
Thanks for the enlightenment.
