This calculator has no option to choose pastel as the colour of the parents, is that because pastel is really just a blue and gives the same result that it would if it was a blue?

I'd like to know what you'd get from pairing a pastel male with a blue hen.

I got pastel to show up - I chose the following:

Male -
BH, PB, Pastel Blue SF

Female -
BH, WB, Blue

This is why it is so confusing when different terms are used for the same genetic make up. A 'blue pastel' is a silver bird with single factor. Much like a green sf bird with a purple breast is a 'dilute' and one with a white or lilac breast is called a yellow single factor.

A blue bird with a single factor pastel (yellow) and with a purple breast is called a blue pastel on this calculator. Those with a white or lilac breast are listed as silver single factor.
So if you fill in the breast color as purple the blue pastel option comes up in the body color options. If you have put in white or lilac as the breast choice then the option would read silver sf. But both are the same genetic makeup.... just confusing because people call it different things because of the color to the visual eye.

There is no such thing as a pastel option for hens, nor dilute option as this occurs in males only.

A Pastel Male with a Blue hen will give you more Pastel Males, Silver Hens, Blue Hens, and Blue cocks.

That is, assuming both of the birds are not carrying any recessive breast colors.

I do not recommend such a pairing, because I do not recommend pairing two blue bodied birds together.
