I have a pair that decided there was too much noise this weekend with the new aviary being built. There were 2 babies. One looks to be about 10 days old and has white tips to its wings....

Mom.... SILVER
Dad.... BH PB GB

Grandparents on moms side....
Dad.... RH PB GB Dilute
Mom.... BH WB BB

I have no genetic history on dad.

Any ideas?????

Either a SF Yellow Male or possibly a Silver male that is also SF.
To produce yellows the babies would need to be male, and would have to be lilac or white breast. Since your hen is /WB it is possible the cock is as well, and in this case would likely be a WB SF Yellow Male :)

Unless the hen could have copulated with a different male.. are they in a colony setting or individually caged?

Individually caged. However I am not in total understanding....
Tha male is a GB. How can he produce silvers? Or yellows? I don't have any background on him but he is a stunning bird.

You said the female is Silver.
A Silver hen is a yellow hen that is also genetically blue bodied.
So she would pass the yellow gene onto every son she produces - either by producing Dilute/Blues or if they are visually White Breasted, they will be visually yellow "SF Yellow/Blue" males.
You can only get yellow hens if the father is carrying the yellow mutation.

He would only produce Silvers if he is split for blue and only if they are WB males - they would be White Breast SF Yellow Blue, visually Silver birds.

Can you get a photo of the baby? I'd be able to tell you with a photo whether it was Silver or Yellow..

Wow! Thanks, I didn't realize that the young Goulds were that way too. My guess then would be 2 dilute babies here. How interesting that they would have just the 2 males. The other 2 in the clutch died before I realized they were not feeding. Mom and dad are going into the new aviary for a while to rest....

Thanks again Tiffany :)

So when he gets older if I mate him with a Blue female the possibilities are endless, right? Hmmmm...... I will have to think on this a while...

Pretty much! :D
Dilutes and Pastels are great for producing diverse offspring if the right mate is chosen :)
