What to pair with a Florida Silver?

Hey everyone! Well some how either between a male cfw and normal hen pair or a normal male? and a lightback hen pair I got 2 recessive silver males and a Florida silver??? The Florida silver is lighter than the recessives and has the Orange on his wings and very muted chest markings and tear drops when compared to the recessives. How in the world I got him I have no idea because both pairs were bred in seperate cages and I placed all babies together to color up! Anyway I am excited and would like to know what should I pair him with to get full FFs or what's a good color in general to pair with him? Thanks!

Hey Brant
I'd start with something in the Florida Fancy family. Since the FF mutation supresses the black coloring, Black Face and/or Black Breast might give you a bird with extended orange coloring. Guessing Orange Breast would do that as well.
Recently found out our Phaeo boys are split to OB and we're starting to see that show up in their offspring. We're still in the process of breeding our guys to see what results we get, so I don't have a whole lot of hard evidence to provide as of yet.

Thanks! Sadly, no one around here raises those kinds.

The majority of our zebras are Florida Silvers, they are my favorite.
I narrowed down my flock to only breed Florida Fancies, Florida Silvers and I want to add Black Breast to the list when I can find a couple quality pairs. Although most would suspect from my choices that I'm aiming for Phaeos, I'm really not. I just really love the Florida Silvers. I do think the Florida Silver combined with the Black Breast is a gorgeous finch. Like mentioned before, outside of the Black Breast, I can't recommend mixing it with anything other than the Fancies. I encourage you to 1. Read
www.efinch.com pages on the Florida Fancy, including any links and 2. Order Garrie Landry's Finch Genetic book.

One of my favorite finch pictures is here, it's on page 2, image # 15
