Silver/NEW PIC 10/28

Post by CandoAviary » Thu Oct 21, 2010 3:21 pm

I had banded this clutch a while back and assumed I had a yellow and 2 green or dilute chicks. I didn't really scrutinize them much. Yesterday I was doing nest checks and this cage is on the top rack...I was on my step stool and just about fell off...I saw white  The hen was one I bred and she had a sibling that was blue but both parents were /blue...well I guess she inherited that gene :D The male is a dilute that came from the bunch I bought last February...He is split to blue too!!!! The odds of getting this hen is low. Looking at the parents 'whoud of thunk' The brother fledged this morning..2 more to go :D

Another stunning silver -- are you going to give it a southwest sort of name like the last one? Chaparral or Sterling or something like that? Or... Hi Ho....!

I love all your birds but these silvers are something!

I had named it Silica because it reminded me of our white sand beaches here...... but I like those suggestions....I think I will save those names for the clutch that Siverado's parents are incubating now...I have a feeling I am going to have more silvers soon :D Thanks for the ideas...I'm stealing them 8)

I'm an English Major so I have a thing for fitting names to pets... please feel free to use them if you like them....that's part of the fun for me. :D
