I recently got 2 new zebra finches a male and female. The male is a normal mutation however the female is puzzling me.
When i first got her i assumed she was just cfw as she was white, however looking at her her head is dark grey to black with her wings and cheeks much whiter than the rest of her and her tail is not frosted what is she?

btw this pic is two weeks old so her beak is almost fully red now, i cant get my camera to work to get a newer picture.

Thanks in advance. :)

I can't really tell. Are her adult feathers taking over? I would wait until she has coloured up. But someone might know this type :)

My guess would be cfw though.

Would agree with the CFW hypothesis. Very common for the hens to have a gray cap. Also prior to their first molt they sometimes appear to have "white" cheek patches. Lovely young lady you have there.

She's definitley a cfw as you said. Twas just the grey cap on her head that threw me. White cheeks all gone. Thanks for replies everyone. :)
