confusion info from breeders at bird mart re gouldians

I was told the following about gouldian breeding, which contradicts info that I've read elsewhere.

1 - Do not breed YB to YB, the offspring will be weak. Breed GB to YB.

2 - Do not breed WB to WB, the offspring will be weak. Breed WB to a /WB to get a WB.

3 - OK to breed RH to BH. I've seen pro and con on this one on the internet as well.

So I'm confused about this, as:
1 - I have been doing YB to YB.
2 - I am planning to do a WB to WB pairing.
3 - I would like to do a RH to BH, or I have to get a BH BB or /BB hen.

Every time there is a new mutation breeders recommend not to breed them together till they are a better developed mutation.
MOST feel that yellow to yellow and white to white are fine and the gene pool is large enough now. Actually I hear that the white is clearer and brighter with WB to WB.
The RH to BH is going to be one of those "forever" debates.
I'm surprised they didn't also tell you not to breed Bb to Bb, that is still a big no no with most.

i have one friend who did pair a couple of WB and a couple of Wb and /WB. He said to me he realise that the offsprings of the first one have brighter WB and actually, in a clutch, some are strong and some are week. So, for me, i will breed WB and WB to get WB offprings, and choose the strong ones to keep

I believe it depends on your individual birds. If they are strong and not related in any way the pairing can produce very strong chicks. If they are not really big and healthy birds then breeding(any) mutation to mutation will only result in smaller , weaker birds.
Crossing a mutaion back to a normal greenback will strengthen the lines. You then get splits that you can breed to get the desired colors. So you really need to evaluate your particular bird and be honest with yourself about the decision. Will the offsprings be better (healthwise and conformation wise) if I breed the mutation together or will they be better if I outcross for a generation.
I believe my breeding results should always strive for the healthier, better bird than a color. I still get the colors I want...it just may take another year to get them due to breeing split birds.

I think the conflicting comments from breeders are based on thier results. For me when a breeder warns me about not to breed thier birds together (same mutations) it speaks volumes...such as....my birds are closely related, my birds are weak, etc. JMO

It also have to do with what people have heard. Once they hear or read something, it becomes gospel to them despite them having that experience themselves or not. Some gouldian breeders say to never rehome a juvenile unless it's done with it's molt. Bird breeders do what works for them and if it's different, then they are judged sometimes very harshly for it. One of my friends has bred Gouldians for 20 years. She says breeding to get to a WB Blue is very bad....too many mutuations going on.
