hi
is it possible to breed a split blue gouldian from this combo :?:

split blue normal cock
normal black headed hen

Putting that pair together - you may get split to blue chicks or you may get normal chicks (not split) or some of each.

Yes, it is possible, but you will have no way of knowing which babies produced are carrying the blue (e.g. split for blue) mutation.
The only way to be sure is to wait until they are breeding age and test breed them to a blue or /blue and see if any blue offspring are produced.

thanks all. i have and excess of split blue cock birds and plan to put them with green back normals.
just wondering would there be any extra advantage mating them with single factor yellow hens :?:
