i have a question i have 3 spice finches i been trying to get a female i noticed today the one that has not ever sung streached out there nick and made a quiet sound different from my other 2 males .. is this a young finch that is a boy just not singing yet or do females to this this bird is making a quiet chattering sound but not the same as the other 2

My guess from your description is that it's a male that hasn't found its "voice" yet, but hard to tell for sure!

I have a young 4 month old yellow gouldian. I thought she was a she, as she would sit with one of the hens and tweet. Then I noticed she would sit and stare at a young cock that was starting to sing. I thought she might be infatuated
Two days later she was singing, so she's a he.
