gould genetics inheritance

if a breed two normal goulds (red headed, purple breasted, green bodie) will i get any chance to have another mutation, like a blue, or black headed?
and how do i know if my gould is happy and healthy?

Check out the Genetics section in the Finch Information Center - there is a lot of great info on gouldian genetics there. You might see a black head if the male is split to black, and blues may pop up if they are both split to blue.
If it's feathers are tight and the bird looks like it's in good condition, poop is normal and it has a good appetite, you have a healthy bird!
