I'm so tempted to get a pair of gouldians ever since I came accross a breeder here in Charlotte. He has blues, yellows, and normal green backs. I Love them all but would prefer the normal greens or blues. Should I get a matching pair, or is it ok to mismatch if I want to try and breed them eventually???
Thanks for any input!!

Suppose it depends on what you eventually what to do. Breed or keep. If keep then get the colours you like most that would compliment each other if bred. However if you want to breed specifically then choose based on that.
I'm not too clued up on the genetics, but perhaps you could get the best of both worlds and get normals split to blue? then you get to look at the normals and breed possibly blues?

Personally I think you should get the colors that appeal to you most.

Usually the green backs are the hardiest and it is hard to beat the beauty of the Red head, purple breast, green back of the wild gouldian..or the black head and yellow head....
So if you want the experience with the hardiest stock go with the green backs. You are sure to become an addict like most of us and eventually end up with every color anyways
The green backs are usually more reasonable in price also
