She looks like a very pretty pied to me.

I agree. SHE looks like a hen and not a cock, but I don't raise zebras. Maybe Cindy will chime in on this one. She also looks like there is pied fawn markings as you thought.

Hi, when this little one was in the nest was her beak a horn or shell color...she does look fawn pied to me. Her marking are very different. Fawn chicls will have a very light to dark horn colored beak. She is adorable.

The reason the beak is pink on the chick is because of the pied genetics. When birds are as much pied as yours the beak get's affected as well, the pink in the beak is the same as the white in the feathers. So the dark parts of the beak is the "normal" colour underneath.
As you can see one of my pied chicks had mostly a pink beak as well:

Ameza your little pied is adorable, I don't have pied in my collection so I have not experienced the pink beak thing just fawn and normals.

Really you don't have
any pieds?
It's such a common thing here, I'm surprised if I don't get at least one pied in my clutches.
I know many people don't like having pied in their gene pool, but I love medium pied birds that are light coloured, like fawn or isabel

I'll have to look for some and have a small cage of fawn pieds...they are interesting.I try to keep the fawns, penguins and BC separate unless purposely paired.
I hace crested but I am still trying to figure out what to pair them with...one is a BC (cheekless with tear drops) female and the other is a normal crested.

Wait, forgot about this female. Does white wing edges count? Pied?

Well I'm afraid I couldn't keep the pied gene out at all (since there are few colours I would like to breed without it)
even though I wanted to because most of my birds are a little pied or split
I think I have only one that I know for sure that does not carry the pied trait, haha.
I'm hoping my new BC does not really have the pied gene, I want to try to get LB BC from him in the future and I would not fancy the pied trait popping up there

Not sure if she is split or pied. At first I though the pied didn't show splits but Elma/Vargur told me once that splits often show white feathers like this one.

Her parents have only given me the one bird that looks like her, the rest are deep fawns and normals. She is the only one out of 3 clutches. I was going to put her with the normal crested male.

Funky how you have only got one. But zebras are so silly that way as you know.
I'm still sure that my current "mystery" chick is from some another bird, they must have taken the egg with them from my other cage haha

@finchboiuk: the baby zebra looks like a normal grey to me.
Very cute one!!
The beak is pied, just like the body,
thats why its like pink and black.
if it is fawn, then the black would be horn colored, not black.
sometimes the normal grey is somewhat brownish..
And the tail on your baby finch look also like NG.
Its dark, not fawn.
here are two of my pied fawns..

and your fawn hen, looks like she is split for pied or full pied.
At least I can see pied on her forhead and chin..
