Hey there! One of my new Gouldians is molting and showing numerous colors. At first I thought it to be a black head/white breast/yellow belly/green back but I'm not sure about the head now. Anyone hazard a guess cause I am seeing red as well on its head.

Hard to tell in the picture but I definitely see red or yellow head.

Debbie when I first saw him he was showing black I'll be happy with red or yellow as well...... I wish it didn't take so looooong!

Yea, sometimes it seems to take forever especially when your anxious to see what you have, lol.

How exciting for you! what if you have a yellow head! That would be so exciting... well any head color would be exciting! I've been reading about some supplements that quicken the molting process. Does anyone think they really work? Anyway, I'm sure jazzed to hear your young'uns are molting into their adult colors!!! Do you know if they're boys or girls yet?

I'm putting bets on it being a orange head. I played around with your photos and it appears the head feathers so far are coming up as orange. Congratulations!

I think the one showing color is a male not sure on the other one yet.

I was thinking hen by the light yellow belly but it could just be the picture on my end.
Either way you have a good looking chick.

Are you sure that's a male? (Is it singing?) It looks like a female to me.
Also, I'm seeing red on the beak, so I'm guessing despite the feather color looking a bit orange that this is actually a red head hen. I think it might just be these first few feathers looking a little distorted in color compared to the juvie feathers.

You all may be right only time will tell.... I just wish it didn't take so long.
