I have a yellow back gouldian that have pink tail and wing feathers... Im kind of new on the yellow goulds and I have been looking around a little and to se if I could find that on someone else. But I havent found any yet... Where does that pink come from? Is it common? Its hard to capture it on photos, but it is very prominent in real life. Its not a pale red, it is really pinkish.
Im just curios to where she got it from and if it is something woth breeding on, or if it is considerd a flaw? She is still quite young, so Ill se how the colours progress further in to her adulthood.
Maybe, its a stupid question...

but these yellow backs are new to me, Im more used to the normal ones, that comes without surprice colours
The photo is not the best, Ill try to take a better tomorrow:)

I have to ask. Is there anything pink in her cage now, or where she came from? I ask this because I had bought one of those flavoured cuttle bones for my cockatiel, it was pink and after 2 days of rubbing against it so was his tail

Yes she is really pretty
No there is nothing red around here... and she has bathed many times and its still there. I dont feed my canaries any colour enhansing product either...
As you say, it looks like she has beet sitting in pink dye... I dont know what it is. she was like that when I got her and I have had her for maby six weeks... Do you think the breeder have coloured her

So its not real then? I didnt se anything she could have gotten it from when I picked her up
I hope it stays... its very pretty

And I also hope its nothing dangerous

It may be that she got into something at the breeders. When she molts and those feathers fall out she may not get new pink feathers. Will be interesting to see, do let us know.

Was she in an aviary with any red birds?
Like canaries that were being co our fed?
She probably ate some of it and she turned pink.
It will molt out eventually.
