Need some help here

Post by lovemyfinch » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:57 pm

So this georgeous hen is the last of her line. :( I lost her mamma Fleur right after she finished laying her clutch  I am curious to know if Flower is what would be considered to be lilac breast, or if she is just a very faint purple breast?

She could possibly be Lilac (you're talking about the BH Blue hen, right?).. what are her parents?

Were there any other offspring besides her produced by the pair?

Tiffany, her parents are hen: BH WB BB and male: OH PB/WB GB/BB.
His parents are my surprise breeding pair 8) hen: BH/OH PB/WB BB and male: RH/OH PB/WB GB/BB. The hen`s parents I bought from another breeder going out of business. Male: BH PB/WB BB Hen: BH WB GB/BB. I can`t for the likes of me find their papers , but I do recall that on both sides of the grandparents there is lilac breast, but going a couple of generations. I just never even thought of the possibility of it coming through so far down the line. :?
I will attach pics of her 2 handsome brothers.

Thanks everyone :D
Being as how Liz was looking for a white breast (which she isn`t  ) I have decided that she along with her 2 brothers will be added to my breeding program. They are soooo very special to me, and I really don`t see myself being able to let them go to just any home at the mart [-X
So ... being as how I will now be keeping on too many birds #-o I will be requesting that hubby and the boys move out next week

If her parents are Purple/White and WB then there's no way (genetically) she could be LB.. so she must just be a really pretty pale purple breast! :)

Are you sure the father is Purple/White though? You said his parents were Purple/White and Purple/White - but I see all of their offspring were PB, right? That pairing (the father's parents) could produce just DF Purple babies, too.. so he might not be /White unless you've produced WB babies from him?

You are correct Tiffany. :D He might not be /WB, but his parents definately both are. His parents have so far produced: 1. RH, OH 2. WB, PB 3. GB , BB.

I really don`t mind if she isn`t lilac  as I said it really wasn`t expected, and she is special either way =D>
