Fawn societies?

Post by HoangQuan » Thu Oct 13, 2011 11:44 pm

My friend just gave me a pair of society( since I keep whining with him about how I love societies but only have 1 pair. LOL). anyway I brought the birds home at night so didn't really notice the color. This morning I took a look at them and was very surprise. I think most of the fawn society I've ever seen were more like creamy-brown, but these two are dark, rich brown, almost orange, like the cheek of zebra. That do you think? Are they just fawn, or chestnut with white patches? :?

I'm with you - Societies are the best! These two are lovely little fawns. All the Society colors vary in intensity and Fawns can be the soft, creamy kind of color you describe and all the way through to my favorite - a deep rich orange-like color. Just my opinion, but I think the variations come from lots of things - like genetic predisposition and presence of other modifying genes like dilute or gray or pearl.

Your new pair are adorable! Thanks for sharing them.
