I have a blue Gouldian, she is over a year old and has not gone through a complete molt yet. Her head is still grey with some specks of black. Her breast is half white.
I think she has stopped actively molting for now. Is this normal for a blue?

Molting for a blue is no different then other mutations. Sounds like she got stuck in molt.

What caused her to be stuck in a molt?
Will she ever go through her molt?

Stuck in molt is usually caused by being overly stressed such as a move or poor nutrition. That's usually way people say don't buy your goulds till they are fully colored because that is a very stressful time for them and moving them at that time isn't a good thing. She will eventually color up but it may take a year or more.

The funny thing is she is from a clutch of 4. Father is normal split blue. Mother is blue. All four babies are blue. Three finished their normal molt by six months. It is just the one chick that got "stuck". I haven't moved them and still in their own environment. There is lots of room in the flight, so the stress cannot be from over crowding? Must be the diet. But I give the premium seed and lots of fresh egg food and vitamins, and fresh veggies.
Just stumps me.
