Post by wildbill » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:59 am

hi all
here's a photo of the one and only young hatched from the 1st pairing of the above two mutations of diamonds. only a young pair around 10 months old so looking forward to better results down the track. note the white feathers around one side of its head

Wildbill, that is an adorable chick...don't you have a pied adult diamond? I remeber a post a while ago from someone and I thought it might be you.

that's me. i have 6 pieds in total unfortunately apart from one pied hen all other diamonds were males. that pied hen has now paired off with a split fawn/fawn or pied and on eggs. 2 of the other 5 are either with fawn or cinnamons.
in the next few days i plan to put the very best pied cock with a fawn hen so i think that there are interesting days ahead.
today i thought the above young was just of normal appearance till it turned it's head and displayed the white head feathers - so i went inside and got the camera and took the photo.
regards
