Wing Lacing (Zebra)

Post by DanteD716 » Mon Jan 30, 2012 5:41 pm

Well, I got a better look at him. Orange lacing for sure, hints of orange on his back towards the tail and frosted, white tips on his tail feathers. Maybe bb or ob split? He is with a thick teared grey hen, we shall see

Dante, it can mean split to FF.

see the article
http://www.efinch.com/species/ffzeb.htm

last sentence in the first paragraph under "Identifying Splits"

orange lacing in wings and the buff coloring of the belly can be seen in splits.

OB splits show traces of orange in the tail, breast bar or edges of the breast bar. Tear is reduced

see splits on

BB splits have the hour glass shape in the tail feathers

The cheek patches can be enlarged, flanks spots can be oval in shape, the tear mark thin/reduced

They are probably splits like my two young ones on the "maybe Phaeo" post.
