Mutations, Mutations!!
I've been struggling, because in two weeks I will be going to the bird expo, and i have no idea on what line of mutation should I introduce to my zebra family. I just had the first baby of the season (from a CFW pair) and a (CFW hen and I pied male) which I got an all white chick.
I have plenty of CFW hens, and I want to introduce another bloodline of mutation to expand my collection!
Which mutations would be nice to mix with my CFW hens?
Also what other mutations should I get from the expo?

Sandro -- I think Florida Fancy aka Isabel are wonderful additions, as well as Continental CFW (with the black cheeks). If you can find them, Dominant Silvers are beautiful as well. Penguins are adorable too!
Good luck and please post photos if you buy any new mutations!

Good luck, Sandro!!!
I hope you find all the mutations you are looking for at the bird expo. Any mutations should work fine with your CFW hens. I'm so excited for you!!! New birds are always so much fun.

Re: Mutations, Mutations!!
Bear in mind like fawn CFW is sex linked and the females are just visual, they do not carry the gene but if paired with a fawn male you can get offspring males that are split
50.0% Females >> Fawn
50.0% Males >> Fawn / CFW
I hace BC CFW that I will offer up for sale soon and can do pairs.

Re: Mutations, Mutations!!
Hi,
We are going to the expo in Orlando in a couple of weeks. I am hoping to find another CFW pair and I would like a Penguin pair. I think so - however, we could quite likely come home with more than that!
Hope you find the birds you are looking for!

Yes they are!! I'm leaning towards the Phaeo mutation even though it looks like a hard mutation to achieve. There are so many interesting mutation on Zebras that gets me super pump to try them all!

Re: Mutations, Mutations!!
I may have phaoes in two nests right now, waiting for the rest of the eggs to hatch, then we shall see as the chicks mature. I started over two years ago with a FS male and an Isabel female. Locating BB or splits and OB (a fawn was split to OB and BB) to a bit longer...finally I have the makings for phaeo.
In all the shows I have attended I have yet to see phaeo.

Re: Mutations, Mutations!!
Sounds like a very long process, but totally worth it!
Cindy I hope they are Phaeo's!
That is exactly why I love them, I have never seen one in person, since they're so exclusive!!
