I got this hen from a friends mom, she has alot of white, she was bred n a colony that included black cheeks...I wondered if she maybe had a bc parent snce her tears are wide and brush back a little into her cheeks. I got a pic of her tail too, The male is my new sweetie...colored up, his mother is half bc, and his dad crested normal grey. He is finishing his baby molt and I wont breed them for awhile but thought they might make a nice pair...I got a bc hen for him originally, but am gonna breed her to my cfw male. So I think he may get this pied lady!! If you click on pics they should get larger. Thanks for any input.

Very nice crested!!! She looks to be a pied/BC. Heather...I have fawn split to pied/OB/BB and NG split to pied/BB and Crested split to pied....when the time comes and I set all to nest again I can send you eggs from each clutch as well as some BC CFW eggs.

Cindy I would love to try out the egg sending. I guess I am keeping her then. oh....so if I bred her to a bc male would they have pied bc?? I seen a big male bc pied I wanted....once again not someone reputable I would buy a bird from....although tempted!! my two ultimate dream zebras to breed would be pied bc and bccfw.....crested of course!!!LOL

Oh, and the hen where she isnt white on her belly is deep tan like bc and there are faint hints of black in her sides. well I am a little more excited now, her beak is the reddest I have seen on a hen. the lamp over cage dulls her colors.

You can get a pied BC but bear in mond the young will be more pied than the parents. If you pair he with a non pied BC some of the pied effect will be lessened. you will get splits

BC male with pied/BC hen

50% Black cheeked /Pied
50% Normal/Black cheeked Pied
