I have the below male finch no mate

I want to breed him but I only have a CWF female and a black cheek female. That's the only extras I have. What do you think would happen if I bred the male to either of the females. They are not split, at least that's what I was told. When I showed the pic of the male someone suggested it was split to pied. I don't see it but I'm no pro. I'm a newbie and still don't understand what color he is. I mean you gave me the answers but if it isn't grey or white, I'm confused just in general.  :?:

He is definitely split for pied (per his white lined wing feathers). He appears to be a silver Florida Fancy (or silver Isabel). I would breed him with the CFW. However, you will still get some gray offspring. You will get some gray offspring; whether you pair him with the CFW or the BC hen. I think aesthetically however, he would look nicely with the CFW hen. White and silver look nice paired together. =D>

He is a Florida silver split to pied....if you bred him to the CFW female (females do not carry the gene but you will get male offspring split to CFW.

the calculators I use...one does not have Silver Isabel and the other does not have CFW so I used the one without the silver since with FS you can get either FS males or FF males

the is the FS/pied to CFW hen
25.0% Females >> Gray / Pied , Isabel
25.0% Females >> Gray / Isabel
25.0% Males >> Gray / Pied , Isabel , CFW
25.0% Males >> Gray / Isabel , CFW

BC is recessive so the female can pass the gene

FS/pied to BC hen

50.0% >> Gray / Pied , Isabel , Black Cheeked
50.0% >> Gray / Isabel , Black Cheeked

CWF and BC finches

Hi, because of all th great info here I haven't had to ask many questions. Did find one for you all.

If I have a BC female and CWF male what will the babies be (if not split.)

I have a limited amount of finches staying small, so what two finches could I put together to eventually get a bccwf?

PS. I finally got a true pair of societies and am thrilled!

I rescued a male mouse since I've been here. He was all chewed up all over his face and he is so tame he just sits in my lap or hand. He came that way. He was in a cage with other male mice so I knew Peanut belonged to me. Just info.

Very interested in the BCCWF and what's involved since finches are very scarce in my neck of the woods.
