If the father is a black face does that mean all the chicks will at least be split to bf? Or is their someway to tell if it is split to bf?

It is a dominant gene...it will take priority over recessive.

Yes, as Cindy said it is dominant so all will be BF, unless the parents contain hidden genes you should expect BF

no the BF is dominate..all the chicks will be BF and split to BC.

Like they said before, all of your offspring will be BF, because BF is a dominant mutation which means you only need one parent with the mutation to pass it on to the offspring.

Just a side note, since I'm not sure how much you have read on the matter, female BF's don't actually get a black face. Instead the white that is by the beak in normal greys becomes grey instead of white. Which is why one does not always notice it at first if a female is BF.

That is the reason i am asking . From what i understand they should have no white between the tear mark or on the belly. Two of the females have pure white between the tear mark and one has white down its stomach.its hard to see in the pictures but they are pure white tear marks.

The articles I provided for you on BF are extremely helpful...your females may be split to BC...if loading your pictures from you cell turn your camera in a different direction so they don't load to the side...it is easier to look at.

top pictue black band looks like a silver Isabel possibly split to OB..the picture is a bit blurred...does she have orange at the top of the wing, on her breast?

The middle bird looks to have a split to pied...bit of white on her side.

I went and looked into the matter and it seems I was wrong.
It's actually just 50% of the offspring that will get the BF.
I thought the dominant gene meant that all should get the colour, but it seems that it just means that you don't need the other parent to have it also. But not all of them will be BF.

No, there is no such thing as split when it comes to dominant mutations like BF.
The offspring will be BF or not BF.
