What are they

Someone gave me three eggs and said they were either masked or painted finches. Can anyone tell me what i have?

That is the only picture i have. It is these socities first time raising babies and i didn't want to bother them to much.

I don't blame you - I wouldn't want to risk losing these chicks either! Congratulations! Have all the eggs hatched - were there any Society-laid eggs in with these?

Going by the pics that Debbie just linked....I would almost go with masked....baby painteds appear to be naked.

Yes all three have hatched, and no there is no socities eggs. I think you are right looking at the pictures it looks like the masked with the fuzz.

Whichever one they turn out to be, that is a fantastic gift! Either species would be quite special--congrats!
