Nugget is a little more mutated than most - he never developed a tail, except for one sad feather. Doesn't seem to bother him though. Was wondering what kind of mutation he is, with no orange at all, and little barring.

I assume this is a boy because he has cheeks, but... hopefully I get this right... without flanking and with very little barring on the chest, I'm not 100% sure. What do you think? I'm not having much luck telling the difference between beak colors on males and females...

Nugget looks like a hen to me. The larger than normal tears indicate split to black cheek and the cheek patches may possibly indicate split to orange breast. Not sure about the few black feathers on the chest but some of my black cheek hens have this as well.

Nugget is female(unless she sings!)
She looks to be split to OB and a few black feathers can indicate a split to black cheek as well(the extended tear shows Black cheek though it is not a wide tear)
By the way, if the bird is on a good diet, females can actually have red beaks like males. My little(almost)8 month old hen has a bright red beak

The Orange cheeks indicate OB. The black breast bar can indicate BB. Often females solitary it full BB can show breast bars. I have several like her. The parents produce full and splits to BB. Some females show slight breast bars.

Look really close at were a male's flanking would be. Sometimes if a female carries BB they can have faint gray color with light faint oval markings.

She is split to OB. This is an gen I will be picking up from Charlie on Monday. She is split to OB.
