Picked up a pair of owls wednesday and the gal had some yelllow back Gouldians with white heads and she told me that they were black heads..... I had never seen a yellow back with a white head. Comments Please..

I just sold one. They are called Black Heads but it shows as white. Someone who's into genetics more than I can explain.

Black Head Yellow body gouldians will only ever have white heads because the yellow gene suppresses the expression of the color black on the birds. Any area which would normally be black on a green bird appears white or off-white on a yellow bird.

The hens head will usually look white, but the male's can look grayish.
