Hi, I have 2 Zebra finch hatchlings I'm just curious if they're Normal grey's or Lightbacks? The dad is a normal grey I don't know if he has any hidden splits mom is a Chestnut flanked white and unsure if she has any hidden splits. I know if they are not split to anything then chicks will be males will be normal grey/cfw and females will be normal grey. Both chicks mouth marking look the same to me. The older one hatched on the 21st and the younger one hatched on the 22nd. Here are a few pictures of the chicks. Thanks.

could be LB.
But I think NG split CFW.
On the other hand, I am not good in guessing
when the chicks are so young.
looking at the mouth markings, I would say NG split CFW.

Thanks, It doesn't really matter to me if they are Normal Grey or a different mutation as long as they are healthy but would be an added bonus if one turned out to be a different mutation. My male Normal grey is one of my favorites I love the color in his wings.

Another question... The oldest chick has pink wings and the younger chick has more of a grey/black wings. What causes that? I thought they'd look the same?

Dad is NG, mom is CFW.

But it would be nice to see them,
so we can tell if they have hidden genes or not.

They look normal ng and CFW to me.
I cannot see any hidden mutations in those pictures.

Thank you. I think they are normal grey chicks. I will post more pictures when they get older.

if your this turn out light silver grey, then its LB.
