Hi, I set up a pair of Society finches yesterday. The female is a chocolate self and the male is a fawn pied. I don't know if they are split to anything. They are getting a long great and the male has been singing to the female. If they breed what would the chicks be? Here are a few pictures of the pair. Thanks.

They are very cute, Tiffany! The babies will all be pied. Chocolate is dominant to Chestnut which is dominant to Fawn. So, if your chocolate is not split to anything, the babies will all be chocolate. It is quite possible she is split to something, however, so you actually could get pied babies in any or all of the three colors.

It's one of the many, many things that make Societies so much fun! :) Will look forward to seeing what they produce!

They can breed till 4 year's old at least :-BD
Your hen should have no problem's with laying and rearing a clutch . Start them out with some egg food once a week ( t spoonful ) to give them a taste and twice weekly when she start's laying .
They'll have no problem taking it when their chick's hatch and as they grow up the quantity and feed morning and evening :)
