Recently i have received this Male from one of my friends, and his blue ring color makes me feel really confused. Does he split to blue backed ? He is double factor yellow, normally the blue ring will consequently turn to white, however the blue ring on his neck is quite blue intended. And also his back color is a little bit dirty yellow, is it the result of blue backed gene? He has a silver sister , who has the same parents with him.

DF Yellow can still have some blue around the mask. It varies in its intensity and I think is less prominent in LB or WB. There is not any way of determining split to blue visually.

oh, and beautiful bird!

I have not raised enough YB to get a good feel for this, but, this is my observation with the few that I have.

The blue around the neck seems to be depend on the breast color.
I have a RH/OH-PB/WB-DF YB male that has a slight blue ring. His son is a RH-WB-YB, with a clean white ring. So I "think" the PB brings out the blue in the ring.

As for the back color, again, I "think" the PB makes the YB slightly "dirtier" looking than a WB bird.

I would guess that your bird is a DF YB.

Breed him and see what you get.
Unexpected colored chicks is some of the fun of breeding.
I've gotten OH chicks from RH parents, and for me that was a pleasant surprise.
I've also gotten a BH-WB-GB from a RH-WB-YB male and a RH-PB/WB-YH female. That really told me that the male was SF YB.

This guy is definitely a double factor yellow. As some of the others have said, he could be split to blue somewhere, but a split to blue does not show up in the coloring of the carrier bird.

I miss my double factor yellow male. He looked exactly like your boy. He passed away a few months back, from unknown causes. :(

Thank you my friends !
However, i think If a normal green backed/Split to Blue can be recognized by observation due to the green color can assist the blue color to show on some parts of his wings and back :) With mine, may be the PB makes his back color seems a bit dirtier. But , reasonably, i still can hope that he has Blue gene, since his sister is a silver :)

Knowing family genetics (father and mother) is very helpful in figuring out what his hidden splits could be. I'm not good with genetics, so I can't figure it out from siblings.
