Why do the fawn Penguin pics I see have teardrops and the grey ones don't? Is it a flaw?

I love the fawn penguin. My uncle had a few, none had tears though.

penguins should not have tears, where are you viewing the pictures...link?

http://www.efinch.com/species/pengzeb.htm

When the males fledge and before they color out they look like normals in the box and upon fledging, once they molt they should loose the tear. Females often come out with a light white or silver (gray penguins) cheek that should fade away to white....if they have tears as adults they arent suppose to and may not be full penguins....none of my 15 have tears as adults

Sounds like the pic I saw was of a youngster.
