I noticed today a female in my aviary that has the hourglass shape in the tail feathers, but no other markings of a split black breast. Like the reduced tear drops. This one has very dark marked tear drops and hourglass shaped tail. Culd it be that this one is a BB split?

the hourglass shape is the tell "tail" sign for a split. thin tears can also be a sign for BB split or split to OB. Not all birds that are split for recessive genes show all the signs. http://www.efinch.com/varieties.htm

Ok so then if she has the hourglass shape she is BB split even though she dosent have the other signs? I use to think that that they had to show all the signs. Thanks Cindy. Much help
