I have a few questions about my Zebra mutations for anyone willing to help?
I have what I though was a SF Florida Fancy (or Isabel) cock. He is a light silvery grey color. The hens he threw all have diluted tear marks and tail feathers as well as the same silvery color and a bit of variegation on the wings. After 2 years or never getting a DF florida fancy I had them all in a flight and I forgot to pull eggs. Not knowing who paired with who was thrilled to find a very light dominate silver chick and a florida fancy cock out of the nests. I couldn't even tell if they were from the same nest! UGH! So I paired up again in hopes to get more and all that cock threw again was a silvery hen? Im pretty convinced at this point that he is a recessive silver and the florida fancy came from a OB cock (with unknown splits?) This OB has very pronounced variegated feathers.
My questions:
If that cock is a silver what can I expect to come out? and My goal is to get dominate silver chicks. Can that happen with a recessive silver X recessive silver. Or would I have better luck with a recessive silver hen X a SF dominate silver cock? What is a pretty recessive mutation if not? Would fawn help?
With the OB cock If he is a SF Florida fancy what do I need to do to get good quality Florida Fancy chicks?
Thank you for your help!
