Here are my new yellow fledglings. Their heads look lighter than I remember on last year's YB. One of those turned out to be RH but the other was YH; both were females. Mom is RH/PB/GB and Dad is RH/PB/SFYB. I was expecting all red heads. How was the YH even possible? Any guesses on these two?
I have checked out the forecasters but didn't breed the parents so am backtracking genetics on them too based on their babies.

In order to get YH chicks both parents have to have a YH gene to pass on so parents would need to be YH or split to YH

We need a reverse genetics calculator; plug in whatcha got, and it will give you possibilities of how it got there.

These are there baby colors. The parents are both RH but have had a YH before too.
@debbie 276
Thanks for the link. Now I know they are both girls.

My first question would be are you sure mom is RH?
Is her beak red or yellow? If yellow, she's OH - this is confused often!
If they are both, in fact, red, then as Debbie has already said they must be both split for orange
