Hi everyone
i have a female Zebra finch and i bought her a black breasted male ,
but still not sure if it's OB or BB.
so can you please help me identify it's mutation.
notice that it lacks the tear markings but the tail bars still normal

not full orange breast, not full black breast either. Looks silver possibly split to BB. You need to put a small heat lamp on her she does not look well

those were old pictures of her
i took 2 more photos hope they look better
as you can see , she looks better now , and if you are looking for a traces of spots on her sides , well there isn't
hope the new photos will make it clear

Re: Orange Breasted or black Breasted?
thank u fetching
i'm 99% sure it's fawn not silver ,because it's base color is similar to the fawns i had before ,
i hope it's at least split to BB since this mutation and many other mutations is rare and expensive in iraq compared to sex-linked mutations .

Re: Orange Breasted or black Breasted?
thank you very much fetching for your great effort , if she is a dominant silver combined with fawn it will be great bcoz silvers are rarer than BB here but in that case i have to wait for much longer time if i want to have black breasted zebras .
by the way , this is the first time i try to breed large zebras
do you find them harder to breed than regular size zebras?
