Re: what color breast is this ?
I assumed it would a lighter Lilac color because of the mutation. Since he is silver every color he expresses is going to be somewhat duller and not as bright as a normal or yellow.
Either way he is a good looking boy in my aviary

The breast color will be very close to the same in a Pastel Blue as a Green.josh1810 wrote: I assumed it would a lighter Lilac color because of the mutation. Since he is silver every color he expresses is going to be somewhat duller and not as bright as a normal or yellow.

Re: what color breast is this ?
I would have also guessed lilac, like lovezebs. But i would have assumed hen.
But if it's definitely a male, I concur with debbie276 that it's a white because that's much, much paler than any lilac-breasted silver male I've seen.
Unless it's a fluke and he's just a super, super pale lilac.
I'd be interested to see what happens when you breed this beautiful boy!
lovezebs you missed your calling working for a paint or cosmetic company naming colors!!

Here's a picture of one of my Purple Breast Pastel Blue hens to show you how they still maintain the colors of the breast.

She is beautiful! I'll take pics of my gouldian juries once they finish their molt. I think I have a few lilac breasted out of the four juries. Their dad is BH.PC/WC.GB and the mom is BH.WC.GB. So far, two of the juries look lilac, not purple. One has half lilac and half purple on the chest and the other it's too hard to tell yet. Their poor heads look like that picture in the earlier post, with all the white pin feathers. they look so pitiful looking during molting.

Here are some pics I took today. These babies were hatched in January, so they are almost 7 months old now. You can see the different stages of coloring and molting. Amazing.

I couldn't get all sides of the juvies so everyone can see the different levels of color from front to back, but they are still "in progress."

If you look at the parents and compare to the juvies, you can see what a difference for some of the juries in the intensity of the colors. I think I have two males for sure...

Re: what color breast is this ?
debbie276 Thanks! So, can you see the two that I think are males with the brighter colors? the other two are not done and seem lighter, so maybe hens? Some of them have very blotchy chests.

Re: what color breast is this ?
Here is the silvers father... truely Lilac...
Now when he first started moltimg his breast color was white, then turned this pinky color. So i was thinking he was white breast this whole time until recently. Rosey pink? Maybe the Lilac in his father has a dirty affect on him? I cant seem to find a picture of a silver lilac breast male on google anywhere.
Those juvies are looking great btw... thanks for any comments. WB or LB, I had planned on pairing him with a GB/ PB/WB/ GB/BB hen so i can get more color variety...
