I have found this picture of this extremely attractive Zebra Finch, and was wondering what mutation this might be?

That looks like a fawn Isabel hen. Possibly an Orange Breast to increase the orange cheek patches? (Just talking to someone who says all their OB hens have slightly orange cheek patches.) Here's a picture of one of my fawn Isabel hens.

Aspen

Thanks.
This is a very pretty mutation (as Kelly states :-)) What do the males look like?

I always find it astounding, how all these mutations have come about, out of the normal gray original Zebra finch.

the bird in this picture you asked about... http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http ... kgodLmMMWA

id a Florida Fancy Orange Breast Black Breast (FFOBBB)

the owner wrote that it is phaeo which is FFBB (Florida Fancy Black Breast) there is to much orange in the bird to be just that it looks more like there is orange breast in the mix.

He Dante....

Just had a walk down memory lane, thanks to the post you enclosed.

Elma (Vargur) sure had some lovely Zebra colour mutations. As I recall, she also had some lovely Budgies as well.

What ever happened to Elma, did she just disappear off the Forum, like so many others ? :-(

I know who the breeder is and it is not isabel. I also breed a goo number of zebra and work with several mutation combinations... especially the zebras that show more orange through their bodies like the FFOBBBBF. I also work with European Isabels.

Dante, I am adding pictures of two Isabels - one Fawn BB probably split OB and one Grey split BB. The grey strain Isabels are a mottled silver on their backs and they have faint grey breast bars, while the fawn strains show no grey and no breast bars. That is why I said fawn Isabel.

Cindy, that one may also be a FF as they do look like Isabels. Mine are Isabel as the gene is fully recessive. My first one came from an NG father and Fawn mother.
