White Babies

Post by Bfitzthum » Sat Mar 26, 2016 2:28 am

I was unaware when my finch laid eggs that there were different mutations that could happen. I would love if someone could tell me about three of my 4 babies.

These are CFW (chestnut Flanked White) the gene is sex linked.

You do not mention what the parents are but if dad is a visual CFW or split to CFW he will give your visual CFW hen if not paired with a visual CFW female (the hen/mom has to be a visual CFW to pass the gene, hens are not split to sex linked genes. If she is a visual CFW hen and dad is visual or split to CFW then you will get both male ad female CFW).
